4 1/2 Months!!

4 1/2 months....crazy!! Will is no longer a baby, he is a little person now. He is starting to develop such a great personality too. He is very laid back and just goes with the flow (he does have his moments though!). When we are out, people are always asking us if he is always so content and fortunately, I can say yes! He is such a happy baby and is always laughing and smiling. When he gets angry though you can tell, he scrunches up his eyebrows and gives us an angry gurgle.

We went to the doctor today for Will's 4 month well-baby check-up. Again, Will got a shining report..happy and healthy! I did make Eric come with me this time because I didn't want to bear the trauma of Will's shots alone. He got 4 shots...3 in the leg and 1 in the arm. He was a little trooper though and once we got through the shots he was back to his happy self. Will's measurements are:

Weight - 16 lbs 3 ozs (70-90th percentile)
Height - 24 3/4 inches (50-75th percentile)
Head - 17 1/2 inches (95th percentile...big head = big brain..right?)

At 4 1/2 months, Will is able to:

- Play while laying on his stomach

- Roll over from back to front (but then gets stuck on his tummy because he hasn't figured how to roll himself back). He is soooo proud of himself when he does it. He has a huge smile on his face.

Okay..here I go!

Come on 95% percentile head...your not weighing me down this time.

Hey..where am I?

Whew...I made it.

- Sleep on his belly (and made mommy and daddy very worried parents the first night he did it!)

- Giggle and laugh out loud when tickled (and when mommy makes a funny face or noise)

- On his way to sitting up on his own.

- Starting to do "Razzberries"...the "plzzzzzz" sound you make when you stick out your tongue and blow (Eric didn't know what a razzberry was!) Spit ends up all over his face but he has fun with it.

- Started noticing Lucy and loves to pull her hair (sorry Lucy!)

- Drool like a maniac. There is not a fabric too thick that he can't completely soak.

Playgroup Update

Will and I are still going to our Friday playgroups. I'm so glad I have Friday's off so we are able to get together with the other mommies and Will's new friends. Playgroup is definitely still more for the mommies but the babies are getting much more active than when we first started. Here are some updated pictures of the group. It is amazing how much everyone has grown from the first picture that was taken on the couch way back in April.

Will is not the only boy in the group anymore!

God Bless Will

I'm a little late with this entry but I obviously couldn't forget about this day. On June 22nd, we celebrated Will's baptism at St. Mary's Church in Ridgefield. It was such a special weekend for us with all of our family and friends in town to celebrate with us.

The ceremony was beautiful and Will was a very good boy for the most part. He has a few fussy moments but I can't blame the little guy. We arrived at church at 11:00am for mass and didn't end up leaving until around 2:00pm. Eric held him while he was baptised and he didn't seem to mind when the priest poured the water over his head. At one point during the ceremony, the priest did the sign of the cross on each baby's chest. Will had the pacifier in his mouth and the second the priest started coming at him with his thumb, Will spit the pacifier out of his mouth and had the biggest smile on his face while looking at the priest. It was so cute!.

The baptismal outfit he wore was the same outfit his daddy wore so it was very special. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't in our favor that day but we had a great time anyways. Here are some pics from Will's big day....

The godparents - my mom (Grandma) and Uncle Jeff.

Family and Friends

Yeah! I'm baptised!

Four generations of the Dugas family!

I was running around the house like a crazy person when we got home. However, I really wasn't getting anything accomplished...thank goodness for my wonderful kitchen helpers.

Pooped after a long day of partying. Thank goodness Papi's holding me up.

Bustin' a Move

Every morning, I lean over Will's crib and there he is, right where I last saw him the night before. The other day, I leaned over his crib and looked down where I expected to find him....no Will! I look at the other end of the crib and there he was smiling happily up at me. He had shimmied himself down to the other end of the crib and then done a complete 360 so his feet were facing in the other direction. It's amazing that babies can move that much in their sleep but I guess it is the same way that adults move around in their sleep. However, it would be pretty funny if we started at one end of the bed and woke up at the other!

Also, today Will did his first official roll over from his back to his front all by himself! (no help, I swear!) Once he landed on his stomach, he lifted his head up and started smiling so proud of himself. Of course, I started clapping and cheering. Next time I am going to be sure to have the camera next to me.

One Year....

A year ago today Eric and I found out that I was pregnant. It was a Thursday night and Eric had gone out after work to one of the guys house he works with. We had talked about the fact that I could be pregnant but were giving it some time before taking a test. I was home that night and the suspense was killing me. I couldn't wait any longer and took the test myself and..yup..you guessed it...it was positive. I stood and looked at it for a few minutes thinking...somewhat in shock. Then I started to cry. Of course, I couldn't wait for Eric to come home now so I could tell him. When he got home, I called down to him from upstairs and before he even had a chance to walk up the stairs, I said "Guess what?" and he knew without me even telling him. We both looked at each other..again...a little in shock but we were so excited. The next nine months flew by (for the most part) and now here we are, one year later and we have Will.

Happy 4th of July

Happy 1st 4th of July Will!!

To celebrate the 4th we went to the Cape to enjoy a little sun, relaxation and family time. Will got to hang out with his Grandma and Judu as well as his Nana and Papi...lucky little boy. We went to the beach (Will's first swim in the ocean!)...went to Chatham...watched the fireworks...ate LOTS of food...spent time with family friends. It was a great 4th of July. I hope Will enjoyed it as much as we did!

Decked out in his red, white and blue for the 4th!

Will playing with his new best friend Greta.

Eric, Will and I spent a day in Chatham. It was a little rainy that day but we made the best of it. Will helped out by holding the umbrella over his car seat. hahaha!

Family trip to the beach with all the grandparents. Will had his first swim in the ocean and he actually seemed to enjoy it.

It looks like Will is actually walking in this picture! He is so strong already and only 4 months old.

Big Boy Seat

Will is able to sit up with the help of his new big boy chair..the Bumbo. He now has a whole new perspective on the world.
