Apple Picking

We took Sara on her first apple picking adventure on Friday.  This was our first big trip out as a family of 5 so I was curious to see how things would go.  Fortunately, Sara has been an easy baby so far (granted she is only a week and a half old) so we just loaded her in the stroller and off we went.  We picked a few apples, fed the animals, ate some apple donuts and got lost in a hedge maze.   All in all a fun first trip to the farm.    Here are some pictures....

Using the ladder to pick some apples.

Sara's first apple!
And we even got a smile!

Jack refused to look at the camera since he wasn't holding Sara.
Once it was his turn he was willing to smile.

Apple eyes!

Big Brothers

I knew that Will and Jack were going to be excited when Sara arrived but excited doesn't even describe how infatuated they have been with her.   I think if Will had a choice, he would have stayed at the hospital with Sara and I so he didn't miss a minute of what she was doing.   Jack is just as excited about his "Baby Sara" and constantly wants to give her kisses.  Here are some pictures of the boys with Sara...

Does Jack look happy or what?

Baby Sara's Arrival

After 9 months of anxiously awaiting, we are excited to announce the arrival of Sara Marie Dugas on September 12th at 1:03pm.  Baby Sara weighed in at 8 lbs 3 ozs (a little on the petite side compared to her brothers) and was 20 3/4 inches long.   Sara was scheduled to arrive on September 17th, however, she decided that she wasn't going to make this one easy for me.  Instead I had to suffer through several days of labor pains and two trips to the hospital only to have them tell me it's not time.  Finally after 4 (long) days of pain I went to the doctor on Wednesday for my regularly scheduled appointment.  The doctor took one quick look and said "I think its time to have this baby!".        A little in shock since I was not expecting her to say that, I left the office, called Eric and headed straight to the hospital excited to finally meet the newest member of our family.

We arrived at the hospital and were taken straight into a room.  I expected to have to sit around for a while waiting for my turn.  Instead, we were brought into the delivery room at 12:40pm and within 20 minutes Sara was here!  When I first saw her I couldn't believe how much she looked like Jack when he was a newborn.  She had a full head of black hair and aside from being a little bruised from the trip out, she was a cutie.  While she looks like Jack, she has the same little dimple on her left cheek like her brother Will.

We are so happy that you are finally here baby Sara!!  Here are some pictures of our sweet baby girl.

Ready to go!
Sara was not happy about being taken out of her warm and cozy home and was very vocal about it.

Meeting Sara for the first time.  The look on Will and Jack's faces were priceless.  They were so excited to see her when they came into the room for the first time.

Jack immediately wanted to give her a kiss.

They brought Sara a Triceratops in honor of where here name came from.  :-)
