Jack's 1st Trip to the Dentist

Jack is always surprising me.  Whenever I think he is going to be difficult and uncooperative, he turns out to be perfectly behaved.  You'd think I start learning to have a little more faith in him.  Last week was a perfect example.  I took Jack for his first dentist appointment and I thought for sure he wasn't going to even open his mouth to let the dentist look in and I was bracing myself for the worst.  Turns out I was completely wrong.  He was a model patient.  He jumped right into the chair and did everything the hygienist and dentist wanted him to do.

Of course the big huge balloon at the end of the visit was added incentive for him to behave.  He remembered the balloon from when we went for Will's visit so he had his eye on the prize the entire time.  Here's a few pics from his first visit.

I did not make him wear these.  They give the kids sunglasses so that the light overhead doesn't get in their eyes.  Surprisingly, he wore them with no problem.

4th of July Vacation

We just got back from our annual 4th of July vacation week at the Cape.  For the most part it was a relaxing week even though we managed to make our way from Falmouth, then onto Nantucket and a final stop in Eastham all in a weeks time.   Here's a summary of our vacation.  Bear with me because there are a lot of pictures.

We hit the ground running when we arrived at the cape. First off was a get together with family friends.
Poor Conner was getting man handled by the two boys the entire time but he took it all in stride and surprisingly didn't seem to mind it too much.
Fortunately the weather was in our favor so we got to spend lots of time at the beach.  The favorite activity of the week was riding on the boogie board while trying not to get knocked off.

Oops....we lost Will.

And then Will suckered Judu into pulling him for a little while.

We went to a kids fair in Falmouth with games, rides and dinner.  The boys started off by getting their faces painted.

 How cute are they?

Next up was a trip to Nantucket for the 4th to stay with some friends.  There were three families and 7 kids.

Here's Eric attempting to be 12 again and trying his hand at skim boarding.

 Will and his friend Sienna.

Happy 4th of July!!

We celebrated the 4th at our friends house and got to enjoy the fireworks from their backyard. Here are 5 of the 7 kiddos....

And of course what would 4th of July be without a few sparklers.

However, we figured out that fire and 2-4 year olds is not necessarily a great combination.  But the kids really enjoyed it, especially Jack.

 Whooooo.......I love summer!!!!
