So Strong

Will is getting so strong! He is now able to hold his head up for a few seconds at a time while he is on his tummy. He seems to have almost mastered hold his head still while he is sitting on our laps. However, he still has the occasional bobble head moments. Go Will!

Playgroup

Will and I went to playgroup again today. I am having such a great time hanging out with my new mommy friends. Today we went to Ali and Layla's house and spend the afternoon outside since the weather was so beautiful. It's great to have a group of girls going through the same things we are and can appreciate conversations about poop. haha.

Memorial Day

For Memorial Day weekend, Eric, Will and I headed to the Cape for a little getaway just the three of us. The weather turned out to be perfect and I am so happy that summer is here! We were able to do a lot of walking around town and along the water. Here are some pictures from our weekend.

Such a happy baby!

Mom..stop taking pictures of me!

We also made our first trek to the beach. I can't say it was the most relaxing time and I quickly learned that going to the beach is never going to be the same again. Gone are the days of relaxing in a chair and basking in the sun. I think Eric spent most of his time (3 hours) manuevering the umbrella a hundred different ways as to make sure there were no baby body parts exposed to sun. My friend Jen and her boyfriend were at the beach with us and just watched in amusement as we sat down, got up, sat down, got up. I'm hoping it gets easier as time goes on. However, once Will starts putting things into his mouth...then the real fun begins.

My first bathing suit appearance post-baby...Yikes!

#1 Red Sox Fan

The Red Sox are hot right now...they have won 7 games in a row! Maybe it is due to their newest fan. Will has fast become a member of Red Sox Nation with a little help from daddy.

2 1/2 Months Old!

Okay, so I have been slacking a little with my blogging. Will has been a little more demanding of my time lately. He's not much of a sleeper while we are home during the day so any hope of getting something done is usually pretty slim. However, I won't complain because he is a GREAT sleeper whenever we go out. The second he gets into his car seat, he is happy as a clam and will either fall right to sleep or just look happily around at his surroundings.

This week Will celebrates his 2 1/2 month birthday! It is amazing how much he has changed and grown in that time. I know I said the same thing at 6 weeks but every day brings a new achievement for Will. Last week we went for his 2 month doctor visit and the doctor confirmed that he is happy, healthy and GROWING! His measurements are:

Head - 16 inches - 75% percentile
Length - 24 inches - 95% percentile
Weight - 11 lbs 11 oz - 75% percentile

He is a big boy! Hopefully he has some of the Dugas height genes in him and will be taller than his Papi and Uncle Jeff!

Will is also starting to "talk" now and we can have a "conversation" with him. When he coos, I coo and then he coo's back. It is so cute. He will intently watch our faces as we make a noise and then I swear he copies us and makes the exact same noise back to us! I always tell Will he is advanced. Maybe that is just me being a biased mother but I think he is so smart! I was able to get a little clip of Will and I having a conversation.

haha..this outfit cracks me up. He looks like he is ready to be in a Miami Vice movie.

Happy Mothers Day!

I am a MOM!! Wow! It was funny waking up this morning to being wished Happy Mother's Day! I am used to being the one to wish my mom a Happy Mother's Day. Will's first gift to me was letting us stay in bed until 8:00am...so nice! Once up, Eric made us breakfast...waffles with strawberries and whipped cream. Then Eric and Will gave me my 1st Mother's Day gift, a beautiful silver bracelet and necklace with the mother & child design. I love them! Afterwards, the three of us went for a walk downtown to take advantage of the beautiful weather. This was a great 1st Mother's Day! Happy Mother's Day to all the other mom's out there!

Picture Crazy

We had playgroup again today and I had to post these pictures because this is what happens when you put 9 picture crazy mommies and 10 babies in a room together. As you will see, Will is still the only boy surrounded by his ladies. I think Will is really starting to enjoy playgroup (as much as an 8 week old can enjoy it).

Downward Facing Dog

Today Will and I went to our first Mommy and Me yoga. We went with a couple of the girls from our Friday playgroup. It was a struggle to get us out of the house by 9:30am but we made it. Unfortunately, Will wasn't so into the yoga and preferred to eat than let mommy do her yoga poses. Oh well, it was still fun and we will try again next week.

Of course when the class was over, Will decided to sleep.

My Cousin Jakob (by Will)

I got to meet my cousin Jakob for the first time today. He is pretty cool and everyone says we look alike. Mommy kept saying how big I looked compared to Jakob. Mom...I'm 5 weeks older than him of course I will look bigger! I talked to Jakob and figured out we have a few things in common..we both like to eat, hang out in our bouncy seats and we love to sleep. I think we are going to be good friends and I can't wait until we get to play outside together.

See, we both like our bouncy seats!

Playgroup

We went to our first playgroup today. There were 9 babies and 8 moms. Will is the only boy in the group....clearly a ladies man (just like his dad according to Eric :-) I'm not sure how much "playing" the babies were doing but the moms definitely had fun. I'm looking forward to next weeks playgroup. Here are some pictures from our day.

You know you've officially become a parent when...

1. Arriving "On Time" has a whole new meaning. If you arrive plus or minus one hour from when you were supposed to be someplace, that is considered "On Time".
2. You can no longer walk through your living room in the dark because you know you will trip over toys.
3. You realize that your reflexes and coordination aren't nearly as sharp at 3 AM.
4. Poop conversation is no longer limited to jokes, in fact poop seems intertwined in all conversation.
5. Packing for a weekend no longer consists of one bag, it consists of one adult bag, a swing, a stroller, two diaper bags, another swing, another stroller, a baby bag with approximately 18 outfits, feeding supplies, a car seat and if you remember one ten pound bundle of joy.
6. Dinner used to be a relaxing time for conversation, now it turns into an all out race to the finish where with every bite you glance over at your child knowing that at any moment all hell could break loose.
7. A spit-up stain on you shirt is considered a badge of honor or wound from a great battle.
8. All of a sudden, pig latin may not be the most ridiculous language you speak.
9. Instead of constantly asking where is the TV controller or the portable phone, you're constantly serching for new treasure; a pacifier.
10. You no longer need an alarm clock, you are always up on time in the morning.
11. The highlight of your Saturday night is bath time.
