Birthday Celebration

Well, I am only about 3 weeks behind on this post but better late than never. On the 21st we celebrated Will's 2nd birthday at our house with family and friends. I'm sure you can guess from the picture below what the theme of the party was...Sesame Street of course! While I'm not sure Will really understood that it was his birthday, he enjoyed spending time with everyone, eating his cake and of course opening all the presents. Here are some pictures from the day.....

In honor of Will's favorite character on Sesame Street, we had a Cookie Monster cake for the party.


and Will was very excited when he saw it.



But then when everyone started singing Happy Birthday, he closed his eyes and wouldn't look at the cake or anyone in the room.


Nope..I'm still not looking!

and then he finally gave in and blew out the candles.

Then of course came the family photo ops.



Finally it was time to dive into the cake.


Who needs a fork when you have a finger?



Congrats to the new parents to be!! My cousin Julie and her husband Ryan.

Next it was onto the presents. Will loved opening all his gifts.




And his biggest present of the day was his new swing set!


And then some relaxing time with Papi to wrap up a great birthday party!

Here Comes Peter Cottontail

Jack was enjoying some play time with his bunny friend today and I was enjoying taking pictures of him. I thought the pictures came out really cute so I wanted to share.

Will woke up from his nap and wanted to get in on the action.

Easter Egg Hunt

To get in the Easter spirit, we hosted an Easter egg hunt at our house with all of our new neighborhood friends we've met over the past few months. There were 10 families that came and a total of 17 kids most of who are the same general age as Will. Fortunately the weather held out for us and despite it being a little chilly, it was otherwise a beautiful day. I think the hunt lasted all of three minutes before all 115 eggs were found which was just long enough before the little kids attention span wore out. In true Will style, he was very focused on the search and there was no messing around with him while he was looking for eggs. While most of the other kids quickly abandoned their easter basket, Will would not let his go and carried it around the entire time. He even somehow ended up with two baskets full of eggs when everything was over. Here are a few pictures from the hunt...

Will was a man on a mission. He was searching through all the trees and we finally had to tell him there were no more eggs in there!





We could only get about half of the kids into the group picture. The other half were too busy playing on the swing set. Will and his friends Griffin and Jack held hands the entire time. Everyone else was running around and there was the three of them standing holding hands.



Everyone enjoyed Will's new swing set which had just been put together by Eric and Papi for Will's birthday (birthday blog post coming soon)
