Jane and Paul's Farm

I took the boys strawberry picking this afternoon at this cute little farm not too far from our house. I wasn't sure how long Will would last but he really seemed to enjoy walking through the fields. I picked the strawberries and Will walked behind me putting them in the container. However, every time I turned around, he had another strawberry in his mouth and he would freeze and start giggling because he knew he was eating everything that I picked! Of course I had to snap a few pictures before we left....

Mommy

Well, I am officially "mommy" as of today. I know that probably doesn't sound like that big of a deal since he has been saying my name for a while now. But up to this point, I have been "mama" and all of a sudden today he just started calling me mommy. It is so cute to hear him say mommy but at the same time it makes me a little sad because he is losing that last little bit of baby he was still holding on to. My little man is growing up.....

Name that Color

Will is learning his colors right now and loves to practice saying the different color names. We are still working on differentiating between colors and matching the correct word with the color. I think right now his color choice depends more on what his favorite word happens to be that day, than actually knowing what the right color is. However, he usually is able to correctly name blue and yellow. His pronunciation of some of the words cracks me up and purple is my favorite. I had to catch it on video so I could show it to him one day. Here is a clip.....

Memorial Day

Myrtle Beach 2010

We made the 15 hour trek down to Myrtle Beach again this year. It was great being able to get away as a family and just relax and spend time together. The past few months have been so busy between working, house projects and weekend plans that it was nice to just get away from it all and decompress. The drive down went surprisingly smooth and both boys handled the ride fairly well. If anything, Jack gave us the most problems because without fail, every time we pulled onto the road, within 5 minutes we were pulling off the road to change a dirty diaper. We had great weather and spent our time hanging out at the pool and beach and Eric was able to get in a few rounds of golf. We had a few minor incidents during the week which involved Will falling out of bed in the middle of the night, Eric making a late night trip to the ER, and Will nearly knocking his front tooth out on the side of the pool (which is now a light shade of grey) but aside from that we had a great vacation!

Here are a few pictures from the trip.....

Jack vs. the Water

Round 1: Jack's first dip in the ocean didn't go exactly as we thought it would.

Every time the water touched his feet, he cried hysterically....

...even after a little encouragement from his brother.

The stress of it all knocked him out cold.....

Winner: The Water

Round 2: Things didn't go much better. In fact, he wore himself out so much crying....

...he fell asleep in the float.

and then continued to sleep even after we carried him out of the pool (in the float) and laid him on a chair.

Winner: The Water

Round 3: Third times a charm.....

Winner: Jack!!!
