Sunday Morning

What better way to spend a Sunday morning than playing with the boys. Notice Jack sitting up in his bumbo seat. He is so strong at only 2 1/2 months.

Let's Play Outside

The groundhog saw his shadow so we still have 6 weeks of winter left..yuck. However, we were able to take advantage of a somewhat mild day last week and bundle ourselves up to go outside for a little. We didn't last too long but it was definitely nice to get some fresh air.

Play time for Jack

Its amazing how quickly Jack is growing. While most of his day primarily consists of eating or sleeping, he is definitely becoming more active. He really enjoys his play mat and will play happily on it for 10 or 15 minutes. He gets so excited when he bats one of his toys or looks at himself in the mirror. However Jacks time enjoying his toys is usually limited before Mr. Will comes over to see what is going on. Will has to crawl onto the mat also (which usually topples it over) and lay with Jack. At some point, poor Jack usually gets an elbow to the head which quickly ends the nice play time. But while it lasts it is fun watching his eyes light up as he plays. Potty Time

It's official! Will has started to use the potty! Since this is a pretty big milestone I figured I had to document it. Will was showing interest in the potty at daycare so his teachers encouraged him to use it and he did it! We now have a potty for our house which he seems to really like. He isn't at the point where he asks to use the potty but when we say "Will, it's time to go to the potty", he says "yes" and then leads us up to the bathroom to go. We've already had several successful trips to the potty! He has a hard time saying potty and instead it comes out as "papi" (sorry Denis!). I can't believe we are already at potty training time. Where did the time go? I think we still have a while to go before we no longer need diapers but I am excited that he is taking an interest so young. Go Will!!

The Royal Throne

2 Months

Two months have come and gone so quickly and our little guy is growing like a weed. At 2 months, Jack weighs 12 lbs 5 oz and is in the 70th percentile. He is 24.5 inches long which is 93rd percentile and his head is 16 inches which is a little over average at 73rd percentile. His height compared to weight is only 5 percent which means he is a string bean...long and lean. He has become much more active this month and requires much more attention from Eric and I. He hates sitting in his bouncy seat and much prefers to be held and rocked in our arms. 7-11pm is his "witching" hour and I have spent several hours bouncing on an exercise ball in an attempt to get him to quiet down and fall asleep. However, once he does go to sleep for the night he usually sleeps for 4 1/2 to 5 hours before getting up for a feeding and then goes back down again until morning. He is a very happy baby and smiles and coos whenever we talk to him. Jack is also starting to be very aware of Will and always smiles when Will is paying attention to him. Will is so great with Jack and can't get enough of him. The first thing Will does when he wakes up is come into our room saying "baby, baby" and isn't happy until we show him Jack. The past two months have been a bit crazy in our house trying to juggle bath times, feedings, bed times and play time but we couldn't ask for anything better! Enjoy the pictures!

Sesame Street Friends

I had to post a picture of Will's collection of animals (and a doll) that he carries around with him because it cracks me up. I know kids usually have a favorite stuffed animal (or two) but Will has 12 favorite stuffed animals. The collection has stemmed from his obsession with Sesame Street. Will can't just carry one or two, he has to have all 12 of them at all times. The only problem is that he can't carry all of them at once so in order to bring them into another room, he has to make about six different trips back and forth because he takes them two at a time. He knows exactly how many he should have and if one is missing he runs around the house until he finds it. Sometimes he gets tired of carrying all of them himself and hands them to Eric or I and then grabs our hand and bring us (and the animals) someplace. The stuffed animals have added about 10 minutes onto bedtime because first we have to make sure all the animals are acounted for and then he has to put them in some sort of order on his bed before he will go to sleep.

We are still working on all the sesame street characters names and so far he has three names he can say (in Will language). Cookie=cookie monster, Deo=Elmo and Lala=Abby

And to think that I had been worried that he didn't have a favorite stuffed animal he liked to sleep with. Looks like I don't have to worry about that anymore!
